T-Shirt: "Heroes In An Art Shell"

Threadless has reprinted one of their classic T-shirts, featuring the design seen to the left. Yes, that'd be the namesakes of the Ninja Turtles playing Ninja Turtles.

You can score your T-shirt here.

TMNT at the Dollar Store

It's been a long while since I've found any TMNT goodies at the dollar store, not to mention something actually worth purchasing. So imagine my surprise today as I'm wandering through and find a stack of these 2K3 kids' plates featuring the fantastic artwork of the one and only Michael Dooney.

I snatched up two. :)

T-Shirt: "The Epic Begins"

Shirt.Woot.com is currently selling the fantastic T-shirt at left. The original run, priced at just $10, sold out in just over two hours (check out all of the impressive sales stats!). The shirt is now available for a still-reasonable $15, and with the option of free shipping is still cheaper than anything at Hot Topic. While this is currently in no danger of selling out (again), it will only be available for a limited time, so it's in your best interest to order one ASAP!

Thanks to Cherubae for giving me the initial heads-up!

UK Michaelangelo Cookie Jar

Hero wrote in with some neato pics:

So I was digging through my boxes of stored stuff in the attic yesterday. These are like boxes of things I have not opened in years and forgot about during my multiple house moves.

I came across my old Michaelangelo ceramic cookie jar. This is something my mom bought for me back in 1991 at a seaside gift-shop in a place called Weston Super Mare. I think at the time this was around £5 and of course there was a colour of each turtle respectively.

I figured I’d take out this find and immortalise it further in cyberspace in victory of all the house-moving it has survived. I am certain this was a UK only item and has a Hero Turtle like feel to it.

Have a special TMNT item that you'd like to share? E-mail me your story and pics!

AC Farley Lunchbox

A while ago I featured a TMNT lunchbox with Michael Dooney art that's part of my non-collection of lunchboxes. Today I've decided to feature the A.C. Farley lunchbox.

Although the lunchbox is copyrighted 1991, it seems to be obviously inspired by the third movie. Copyright dates aren't always 100% reliable, so it might have been a tie-in to the movie. I personally don't recall seeing this one in stores, only on the mighty eBay. But it's awesome and I love it. I'm not aware of this piece of art being published anywhere else, though I welcome people who would like to inform me otherwise do so.

Oh, and speaking of the mighty eBay, I have a duplicate of this box up for auction right now!

eBay Auction: TMNT Fast Forward Plush Toys

Here's something I never anticipated seeing. Ever.

These Fast Forward plush toys strike me as something you would find in an arcade claw game. What I can't help but love about them is the distinctly unique expressions each one is giving, and with a level of anger not typical of Fast Forward.

Mike and Don in particular seem a bit angry beyond their character. Although in this case I think I like it. Actually, it quite amuses me. ^_^

Disclaimer: This is not my auction, I do not know the seller, and I cannot vouch for the seller.

Michael Dooney Lunchbox

If I tried to tell you that I didn't collect lunch boxes it would only take one quick walkthrough of my apartment to call me a liar. Scattered around you'll find not only the occasional TMNT lunch box, but also Star Wars and Hello Kitty. But really, I'm not a lunch box collector.

I am, however, a collector of "neat stuff," and over the years I have acquired a pile of lunch boxes that I've determined to fall into this category. All of the TMNT lunch boxes I've made a point of getting have one thing in common: Fantastic art. And, to my knowledge, art that is completely unique to them.

Pictured above is a recent eBay acquisition; a lunch box featuring art by Michael Dooney. I also love this one because the lunch box style is so unique and not your standard box design. The other TMNT lunch boxes I have that I'm incredibly fond of feature art by Chris Allen and A.C. Farley. Perhaps I'll feature those in the future.

Japanese Phone Charms

Here are some TMNT phone charms that I recently purchased from Japan (it'll probably be at least two months before I receive them, alas).

This kind of item is often bootlegged, so it's hard to tell if these are official without holding them in hand. Whether or not they are official, these items appealed to me because they are obviously molded after drawings done by AC Farley, one of my favorite TMNT artists. NinjaTurtles.com actually used to use these drawings on the profile pages of each Turtle.

You can also check out a back view and an alternate front scan.

Australia Merchandise Sightings

emerald_7 shares with us some photos of items she's recently found on store shelves in Australia. Pictured above is the front and back of a TMNT Advent Calendar (although she reports that the chocolate on the inside isn't so good). And below is a series of personal hygene products: Bubble bath, shampoo + conditioner, and bar soap.

Etchstar Product Review

Blue reports in with the TMNT dog tag she recently ordered and received from Etchstar.com:
So I got my dog tag Friday!! I would have posted sooner, but I had important things to do. Like....um....

Anyway! It's very light (because it's anodized aluminum), and it's my new favorite thing- I wear it everywhere, even to bed. DON'T YOU JUDGE ME. I may wear it to work tomorrow, under my shirt. I am seriously considering it.

Sorry if it seems a bit blurry in the photo- but this is the best I can do without exerting effort. It looks very neat. :D So, yes, Etchstar: recommended!

And remember that if you order before the end of December you can receive free shipping if you use this coupon code: SHPFE12

Blue says that's a savings of (at least) $9 - Good deal!

More Halloween

A while ago on NinjaTurtles.com, Dan Berger made mention of an adult TMNT costume that would be available this Halloween. Fan Dorkfish found a picture of this costume a month or so ago, but I was hoping to quietly forget that it existed.

Fan tOkKa asked about the costume, so I'm posting the stock photo that was found. I haven't actually seen this in a store, but it's supposed to run around $150. I would recommend finding a better use for $150.

Halloween Approaches

Halloween is less than a month away and stores are stocked full of costumes and other goodies. Amongst them you should be able to find some TMNT costumes. It seems that this year there is only the choice of Fast Forward-themed costumes. There is a basic version and a "deluxe" muscle version. Below are camera phone pics of a basic Leo costume and a muscle Raph costume.
