A Real Look at the 2014 TMNT Movie Toys

And here it is - finally, our first real picture of the 2014 "Ninja Turtles" movie toys! Here we see Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. This picture is via Stoer Magazine at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. These are apparently the 12" scale figures.

First "Ninja Turtles" 2014 Movie Poster

This poster for the upcoming "Ninja Turtles" movie has been spotted in the wild. In the poster we can see yet more details of the individual look for each Turtle. The poster also retains the logo from a very early teaser poster spotted last year.

A version of this photo was first spotted on Instagram, with a member of the Technodrome forums finding the clearer shot seen to the left. This is part of a display at the Nuremberg Toy Fair.

First Look at "Ninja Turtles" 2014 Shredder

Technodrome forum user RaphTMNT has posted the image to the left showing the design for Shredder in the upcoming movie. I can confirm these images to not be fake. In them, we can see Shredder sporting extreme-metal, samurai-inspired armor. Definitely not someone you want to run into!

UPDATE: Alas, I've had to remove the pictures due to a request from Paramount.

Another First Look at 2014 Movie Turtles

Today, ComicVine published a photo of some reference figures of the 2014 movie Turtles. These are not action figure toys, but rather they are sculpts that were used for visual reference on set, as well as for CGI animation purposes. And I can confirm that this is not a fake.

In the picture above, you can see Michelangelo is styled the same as we saw him in the recent Halloween costume photo. Raphael and Donatello and also sporting unique looks. A picture showing more detail of Leonardo (right) has also been posted online by Technodrome forum member RaphTMNT. This picture gives us a better idea of what to expect the Turtles to look like in the finished movie.

And here's a better look at the Donatello reference figure, posted by Technodrome forum user Donnie.

UPDATE: Alas, I've had to remove the images due to a request from Paramount.

First (Sort Of) Image of 2014 Movie Turtles

It's not a very good sign that less than eight months out from the release of the movie (due August 8 - still my birthday!) Paramount still hasn't released even the smallest teaser for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. However, with all the product tie-ins in development getting ready to be solicited to buyers and distributors, images and information are going to start leaking.

A few weeks ago we had a description of what the new action figures would look like, and now we have an actual image of one of the Halloween costumes. And I can confirm that this image is real, NOT fake.

Obviously, like most Halloween costumes, the quality is pretty low, but it does give us a good idea of what we can expect the full CGI Turtles to look like. Basically, a (kinda creepy) human head design with an assortment of clothing, which will be different for each Turtle.

With Toy Fair next month, we will soon be seeing plenty of pictures of the new toys, which will give us an even better idea of what to expect. Heck, maybe one of these days we'll actually get a trailer!

An Almost Look at "Ninja Turtles" Movie Action Figures

Happy New Year! 2014 has arrived, and it's looking to be a big year for the TMNT. The biggest event, of course, will be the release of the new live action movie, currently scheduled for August 8 (still my birthday). Although we have yet to be shown what the Turtles will look like in their CGI forms, toys for the movie have been in development for awhile. And now is beginning the season of Toy Fair season.

At one such Toy Fair in Russia, some lucky individuals were able to get a glimpse at these new figures. Unfortunately, pictures were not allowed. However, one person put together a fairly detailed report of what he saw.

Read the full report.

Amongst the figures on display were the four Turtles, Splinter, April, Shredder, and a Foot Soldier.

The Turtles are noted to each have different physiques and different clothing. The designs are described as being "traditional," whatever that might mean.

Splinter has more of a "Fu Manchu" vibe going on.

April is dressed like we saw Megan Fox dressed in the many set pictures taken during filming last summer. However, the figure apparently doesn't look much like her.

Shredder is described has having an abundance of pointy edges poking out of him everywhere.

The Foot Soldiers mimic the guys in drab that were also seen on set.

Again, you'll want to read the full report to get the best feel. More toy shows will be taking place in the next couple of months, including Toy Fair in New York. If we don't see the action figures ourselves sooner, we definitely will then.

Like all other TMNT action figures ever, these are being made by Playmates Toys.

"Ninja Turtles" Release Date Moved to August 8, 2014

Deadline.com reports that the release date for next year's "Ninja Turtles" movie has been moved back from June 14, 2014, to August 8, 2014. The given likely reason is to put more space between it and Transformers 4, another Paramount production, which is slated for June 27, 2014.
Both of these have involved campaigns and a big merchandising component, and it was thought the studio would be better off spacing the two toy-tied films further apart than the 19 days it was looking at in the original scheduling configuration. Of course, this puts TMNT just one week away from Marvel Studio’s next superhero franchise launch Guardians Of The Galaxy, which opens August 1.
And yes, if you were paying attention last week, you'll recall that August 8 is my birthday! Woohoo!

Kevin Eastman to Have Cameo in "Ninja Turtles" Film

TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman last week posted to Facebook the news that he was in New York to shoot a cameo in the new "Ninja Turtles" movie coming out next year. No details on what the role might be, but he also shared this photo of his fiancĂ©, Courtney, on set.
A sticker on the back of the truck in the photo says, "Give Blood, Play Hockey." Casey's? It also has New Jersey plates. But I might just be looking for something where there's nothing.

There has been no word on whether or not co-creator Peter Laird will also have a cameo.

First "Ninja Turtles" 2014 Poster Revealed

There's been a bit of debate about whether next year's new TMNT movie is still titled "Ninja Turtles," as was originally announced, or if the title has been changed to "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Director's chairs on-set have the full title. Now, at the licensing expo currently happening in Las Vegas, Paramount is displaying a simple text-only poster with the "Ninja Turtles" title.

With any luck we'll get some concrete information at Comic-Con in San Diego next month.

First Look at the Motion Capture Turtles

Filming is definitely in full gear for next year's new TMNT movie, with new photos from the streets of New York City hitting the Internet every day this week. Yesterday saw our first glimpse at the actors inside the motion capture suits for the Turtles. Let's take a look... (beware potential spoilers)

Will Arnett Playing Vernon Fenwick in "Ninja Turtles"

More pictures from the filming of "Ninja Turtles" in New York City have hit the Internet, and this time we get our first look at Will Arnett. The original announcement of Arnett's casting did not include the role he would be playing, but now we know! Arnett was spotted wearing a press badge similar to the one Megan Fox was spotted wearing over the weekend. A closeup of the badge reveals that he is playing Vernon Fenwick. Of course, Vernon Fenwick was the obnoxious Channel 6 camera man in the original TMNT cartoon.

Megan Fox was also on set with Arnett, where she had a reporter's microphone in hand while on a trampoline.

See more photos from PerezHilton.com and SuperHeroHype.com.

"Ninja Turtles" is scheduled to hit theaters June 14, 2014.

Megan Fox as April O'Neil Spotted in NYC

Over the weekend Megan Fox was spotted in New York City in what is presumed to be her April O'Neil costume as filming for next year's "Ninja Turtles" film continues.

In the picture on the right, Fox is wearing a badge that appears to read "April O'Neil" and could be a press badge for her character.

See more pictures from Just Jared and Celebuzz.

Danny Woodburn Cast as Splinter in "Ninja Turtles"

With filming already underway in New York, we finally have a name attached to the role of Splinter in the upcoming "Ninja Turtles" film.

Deadline.com reports that Danny Woodburn, perhaps best-known for his recurring role on Seinfeld, has been cast as the Turtles ninja master.

At 4' tall, Woodburn's height provides some insight on the character design for Splinter. Although in the latest TMNT cartoon series on Nickelodeon Splinter is comparatively tall, in previous incarnations he has been consistently shorter than the Turtles.

If you have any casting or filming tips regarding the movie, please share them via e-mail! Anonymity will be respected and maintained.

Will Arnett to Play Unknown "Ninja Turtles" Role

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Will Arnett has joined the cast of Ninja Turtles, which is due to begin principal photography in New York within the next couple of weeks.
Arnett’s role is being kept secret, though still uncast from the Ninja Turtles mythology are Splinter, the turtles' sensei rat, and the villainous and masked Shredder. Arnett is not playing the turtles' human friend Casey, another role that has yet to be cast.
Arnett joins Megan Fox (April O'Neil), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), and Noel Fisher (Michelangelo).

The film is scheduled to be released June 6, 2014.

The Turtles in "Ninja Turtles" Get Named

Just days after the revelation that Alan Ritchson will be playing Raphael in next year's Ninja Turtles movie, Deadline.com has announced the actors who will be playing the remaining three Turtles. According to their sources, Pete Ploszek will play Leonardo, Jeremy Howard will play Donatello, and Noel Fisher will play Michelangelo.

More casting announcements are sure to be announced shortly, with Shredder, Splinter, and Casey Jones being the (likely) remaining lead roles.

"Ninja Turtles" Filming and Casting Updates

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports that next year's "Ninja Turtles" movie will film scenes at Big Tupper Ski Area, in Tupper Lake, NY, which currently sits dormant.
The movie is mainly being shot in New York City, but Paramount went to the state to find a ski slope where it would be able to shoot part of the action, said village Mayor Paul Maroun.
Posted signs tell visitors to stay out of the Big Tupper Ski Area while a movie is being filmed there.
"They needed a ski resort that was closed," Maroun said. "Big Tupper fit it perfectly."
Unfortunately, this news most likely means that the current working script is still based around the script that was leaked online last summer.

E-mail script/filming info and/or set pictures! Anonymity will be maintained!

In other news, actor Alan Ritchson has confirmed that he has been cast as Raphael in the movie.
It is assumed that Mr. Ritchson will be doing motion capture work for the role, although it is not confirmed it he will also be performing the voice.

With filming just about to begin, we should be hearing more casting information any time now. The only other known cast member at the moment is Megan Fox as April O'Neil.

"Ninja Turtles" Movie Pushed Back to June 6, 2014

Less than a week after the announcement that Megan Fox has been cast as April O'Neil in next year's Ninja Turtles movie, comes the news that Paramount has pushed back the release date from May 16, 2014 to June 6, 2014.

Speculation is that Paramount moved the release date so as not to compete with a new Godzilla movie, which is scheduled for May 16. As of right now, Ninja Turtles is free from competition on its new June release date.

Michael Bay Casts Megan Fox in "Ninja Turtles"

With filming for next year's Ninja Turtles film apparently ready to begin in April, it's about time for us to start hearing casting news. Michael Bay himself has created a bit of a stir with a brief statement on his official website.
TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!
Despite getting fired from the Transformers series between Transformers 2 and Transformers 3, it would seem that Bay has decided to give Fox another chance to be in one of his films. Of course, as of right now there is no official confirmation via Paramount, so we can only speculate as to what role she might be playing. But the obvious role in a TMNT story would be April O'Neil. It shouldn't be too long before we get confirmation on this and other casting decisions.

UPDATE: Numerous sources are now confirming that Fox will be playing April O'Neil in the upcoming movie.

Ernie Reyes, Jr. "Ninja Turtles" Pitch Video

Ernie Reyes, Jr. (Donatello's stunt double in TMNT 1, Keno in TMNT 2) has released the above video in an effort to be hired as the martial arts consultant for the new Ninja Turtles movie, which begins filming in April. The video is am impressive compilation of Reyes's on-screen martial arts experience. It's clear that if he were involved, Ninja Turtles would be filled with some top-notch, intense action!

"Ninja Turtles" to Begin Filming in New York in April

While no details are currently available, the above tweet showed up over the weekend, declaring that filming on the upcoming live action TMNT movie would begin in New York starting in April. Previously, the movie had been scheduled to film in Vancouver (before getting shut down back in June). It is likely that New York filming will consist of establishing shots, considering the lower cost of shooting a movie in Vancouver.

Whatever the case, this news means that the movie is ready to start moving forward again. Let's just hope the script has been completely rewritten so that it doesn't at all resemble the absolute piece of crap script that was leaked online over the summer.
