Comic-Con is almost here! As usual, Ninja Pizza will have a front row seat to the event and will be providing live updates throughout the weekend. Below the a list of all items and events that may be of interest to TMNT fans. Am I missing something? Please leave a comment or send an email to let me know!

Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Secrets of the ooze are revealed by the mutated minds making Nickelodeon's hit animated series. Moderated by the Internet's biggest fanboy, Andre Meadows (a.k.a. BlackNerd), the panel features executive producers Ciro Nieli and Brandon Auman as they provide sneak peeks into Season 4 and discuss the epic and bizarre adventures in store for the four talking turtles. Also on hand will be the extraordinary and talented voice actors of the TMNT world: Seth Green (Leonardo), Rob Paulsen (Donatello), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo), and more special guests. Booyakasha!

It's a good news/bad news kind of new comic book day. The bad news is that today's issue of TMNT New Animated Adventures is the last is the series. However, fans of the Nickelodeon TMNT universe can take comfort in knowing that a new series set in that universe, called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Amazing Adventures, will be launching in August.

Kidney Transplant Fund for Ernie Reyes Jr.

If you haven't yet heard, with the help of his sister, Ernie Reyes Jr. has launched a GoFundMe campaign in an effort to raise money to help pay for a needed kidney transplant.

Ernie is most known to TMNT fans for his role as Keno the pizza delivery boy in TMNT II: The Secret of the Ooze. He was also Donatello's stunt double in the very first TMNT movie.

In recent months, Ernie has been undergoing dialysis treatment three times a week due to a failed kidney. The target fundraising goal is $75,000, and amazingly supporters have already raised over $50,000 toward that goal. Every little bit helps, so if you have something to spare, even if it's only $5, I encourage you to support Ernie and his family.

Mondo's "First Turtle" Vinyl Figures Now Available for Pre-Order

First previewed at Comic-Con last summer, Mondo's "First Turtle" vinyl figures are now available for pre-order. Based on Kevin Eastman's original drawing that inspired what became our familiar team of four, the figure is available with several paint variations to appeal to all fans.

As pictured above, there is a black and white version, a full-color with red mask version, and a full-color with orange mask version. Each variation is priced at $65.

A Deluxe Limited Edition version, priced at $100, featuring the black and white paint style with interchangeable heads (black and white, but with a red mask and orange mask), was also briefly available, but has already sold out.

"Ninja Turtles 2" Set Pictures Reveal Costumes and Cast

Shortly after the announcement that Stephen Amell will be playing the role of Casey Jones in the TMNT movie sequel, Half Shell, amateur set pictures popped up online of Amell filming in his Casey Jones costume. This prompted Paramount/Nickelodeon to release an official picture of Amell.

You have to do a bit of squinting, but you can read the name "EASTMAN" on the hockey stick he's holding.

Also spotted recently was the one-and-only Judith Hoag, shooting street scenes with Megan Fox (April O'Neil) and Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick). Of course, Hoag was the original April O'Neil in the first TMNT movie from 1990. Although she declined working in the sequels to that film, she remains for many the definitive April O'Neil. While her role in the new movie isn't known, it is definitely a nice acknowledgment to the past.

Nickelodeon's TMNT Series Celebrates Daytime Emmy Win

This past weekend, Nickelodeon's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" cartoon series was, in a tie with "All Hail King Julien," awarded a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Casting for an Animated Series or Special.

The award specifically recognizes Meredith Layne, Sarah Noonan, and Gene Vassilaros. Congratulations to the TMNT team!

Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 2!

Be sure to visit your local comic book store(s) to pick up some fabulous free comic book offerings, and just to support the industry in general. (Go on, find a little something extra to buy while you're there.)

If you happen to be in Maine, or can get yourself there, be sure to visit Steve Lavigne's Shellback Artworks, where TMNT co-creator Peter Laird will be doing an appearance and signing comic books.

Laird will be appearing from 12:00-3:00pm.

And if you do find yourself at Shellback Artworks, Laird and Lavigne will also be selling the previously unpublished TMNT Vol. 4, #31. This means that all of Volume 4 will have finally been published!

Remaining copies will likely go up for sale on the official Mirage website soon after, so watch for news of that sale if you can't make it to the event.

No matter where you go to celebrate Free Comic Book Day, be sure to get to your store early so you can secure your copy of this year's special Free Comic Book Day TMNT comic, Prelude to Vengeance.

More Casting News for "Ninja Turtles 2"

Two more keys roles have been cast in the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2." Reports state that Tyler Perry will be playing scientist Baxter Stockman, while Brian Tee has been cast as Shredder.

Brian Tee

Brian Tee replaces Tohoru Masamune, who was cast as Shredder for reshoots on the 2014 film when it was determined necessary to change the story, which originally had William Ficthner's Eric Sacks character playing the role of Shredder.

While Tyler Perry is perhaps most known for a long list of comedic movies that include his name in the title, he has also played a number of dramatic roles, most recently in last year's "Gone Girl."
