Kevin Eastman at Detroit Fanfare This Weekend

Just a reminder that Detroit Fanfare is this weekend, September 24-25, and TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman is a special guest.

While any convention with Kevin as a guest is a good convention, this convention is of particular note because Cover L of IDW TMNT #1 will be on sale, and Kevin will be sketching on it free of charge.

Here's a little shout-out from Kevin to Con-goers:

And in other Kevin news, he is currently selling the original art for his IDW TMNT #2 variant cover on eBay. Go here to join the bidding war. Good luck!

Mirage Auctions Original Art for Jake Black Cancer Benefit

Mirage is at it again! This week they're auctioning the original artwork used to create the Jake Black cancer benefit t-shirt and art print as an additional fundraiser for Jake! Awesomesauce! You can click each piece of art below to go to the respective auction. Bid high and bid often!

Mirage Selling Art Prints on eBay for Cancer Benefit

You may recall that during last summer's convention season, Mirage Studios created two special TMNT art prints that they then sold to raise money to help Tales of the TMNT writer Jake Black pay some of the medical bills he accrued during his recent battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The good news is that Jake is currently in remission and with luck his active battle against the cancer is over. However, those pesky medical bills still linger.

Mirage has found a handful of the remaining prints and they've put them up on eBay, with all money raised still going to Jake!

This first one is a "jam" piece featuring art by all of the artists who were still at the studio last year (2009).

The second print is quite monumental, as it features pencils by Kevin Eastman and inks by Peter Laird. This piece of art was the first piece the two TMNT creators collaborated on in over 18 years, and is most likely the last piece of art they will ever collaborate on.

If you weren't able to grab these last year, here's a great chance to pick up these incredible pieces of TMNT history while contributing to a great cause! You can click either picture to be taken directly to the respective eBay auction.

As a side note, I got to spend a little time with Jake this past weekend at WonderCon in San Francisco. He's looking great, and I hope things continue to go great for him!

Japanese TMNT Figures on eBay

Shameless plug alert! Yes, all of the following are my own auctions. Click each picture to be taken to the corresponding auction.

Saint Turtle! This is possibly one of the coolest TMNT action figures ever, and it was only available in Japan - No US variation exists! Saint Turtle is the result of the TMNT being adapted for Japanese anime and manga audiences. All four Turtles use transformation crystals to become "Super Turtles," then when the situation becomes most dire they combine their forces (literally!) to deliver a finishing blow.

Super Turtles Michaelangelo! This is the pre-Saint Turtle transformation of Michaelangelo. A variation of this figure was released in the US, but it differed in size and detail.

Super Turtles Donatello! Like the Michaelangelo figure above, this is the pre-Saint Turtle transformation of Donatello. A variation of this figure was released in the US, but it differed in size and detail.

eBay Auctions: Saint Turtle + TMNT Manga!

I currently have some exciting Japanese TMNT items up for auction on eBay.

To the left you can see Saint Turtle, a Japanese-market exclusive TMNT action figure. It's about as awesome as action figures get.

Also available are five different volumes of the TMNT manga that adapts episodes of the original cartoon series.

You can view all of my eBay auctions here.

Good luck!

eBay Auction: TMNT Fast Forward Plush Toys

Here's something I never anticipated seeing. Ever.

These Fast Forward plush toys strike me as something you would find in an arcade claw game. What I can't help but love about them is the distinctly unique expressions each one is giving, and with a level of anger not typical of Fast Forward.

Mike and Don in particular seem a bit angry beyond their character. Although in this case I think I like it. Actually, it quite amuses me. ^_^

eBay Auction: "The Hollywood Store"

Here's an interesting piece of art that has appeared on eBay. Titled "The Hollywood Store," I don't know what the intended use or purpose of this piece was (maybe there actually was such a store - wouldn't be much of a stretch), but amongst several familiar names and faces are two rock and roll Turtles (Mike and Leo, it looks like). Interesting that the artist would choose the Coming Out of Their Shells Turtles to depict... although more likely it was the first and/or only reference material they had to go by.

eBay Auctions: TMNT Manga!

Yes, I'm going to shamelessly pimp my own auctions.

I just imported some of the TMNT manga that adapted episodes of the original cartoon and I'm selling the extras on eBay.

When I describe these as super rare, I'm not kidding - I scour eBay every day for TMNT stuff, and I can't tell you that I've EVER seen these available before.

Volumes 1-5 are up for auction right now! You can click here to view all of the auctions and bid! Good luck!
